Jeff helped pay his way through college by mowing lawns and working at the YMCA. Jeff graduated from the University of Missouri at St. Louis in 1985 with a degree in business. While in college, one of Jeff’s teachers encouraged him to attend law school. Jeff graduated from St. Louis University School of Law in 1990 It was through his own life experiences, that Jeff came to understand the issues that face working families and that maintaining and strengthening Missouri’s public educational system is not only a constitutional mandate but is in the best interests of all citizens of our state.
With the support of many wonderful volunteers, Jeff won a very hard-fought race for St. Louis County Council. As councilman, Jeff took the lead on health, safety, and economic development issues, while helping to preserve the character of South County's neighborhoods. In 2001, Jeff was appointed Director of Intergovernmental Relations for the late County Executive Buzz Westfall. In 2001, Jeff was appointed to the Board of the Metropolitan Park District, also known as Great Rivers Greenway.
Jeff currently practices law with the South County law firm of Welsh & Hubble, P.C. Jeff’s wife Suzanne is Executive Director of Marian Hall, a Catholic Charities Agency, and his two children, Elise and John, are students at Blades Elementary in the Mehlville School District. Jeff and his family reside on Sappington Barracks Road. |
